Why You Shouldn’t Wash Your Hair Every Day, From Katia Beauchamp (VIDEO)
When it comes to washing your hair, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Birchbox Katia Beauchamp stands by the “less is more” mantra.

Katia recommends washing your hair less frequently year-round, not just during the winter months. “I’m a proud dirty-hair girl!” she laughed. Over-washing your hair can make it dryer, flatter and can actually lead to more oil production.

“On the first day after not washing my hair, I love to use a dry shampoo. On the second day, I’ll just wash the front of my hair—where it gets extra greasy—with the rest of my hair in a bun. After I blow dry it feels all new again.”

It may take a while for your hair to adjust to being washed less frequently, but Katia recommends sticking with it, as you’ll have a much easier time getting ready in the morning.
