Students Give Haircuts To Homeless People, Help Them Start Spring Fresh
It’s about more than just a haircut.

Students at Vanguard School of Cosmetology, a Paul Mitchell partner school, used their scissors for good Wednesday when they visited the New Orleans Mission, WDSU reported. They provided free haircuts to about 60 men and women who wanted new looks for spring.

“I like it,” Dale Lacour told WDSU as he got a haircut. “I mean, it’s very nice for people to come here to the New Orleans Mission. The New Orleans Mission helps out a lot of people.”

The students at Vanguard aren’t the only ones who realize the value of a good trim.

Last June, an 82-year-old man made headlines when he was banned from giving homeless people in his community haircuts and food in exchange for hugs. Fortunately, Anthony “Joe the Barber” Cymerys was allowed to return to his haircutting duties.

“It’s all about inspiring people to do things for the least of our brothers,” he said at the time.
