Note: There are several recent research articles that “suggest” pot use could improve some brain functions. What is missing though is an overall view of the brain function as well as drug kindling and panic attacks/disorder caused by pot use. For this reason, we are not including those research articles.  For more information on pot use, refer to Soft Bipolar Suffering, and two following books, Question one and two.

It is my view that alcohol use of ANY amount as well as pot adversely ALWAYS impact a bipolar patient. The most minimal result is to increase current symptoms. The worst outcome, though, is that brain damage is done the worsens the type of bipolar disorder: more severe mood swings, symptoms, and risk of psychosis and quality of life.

There is NO question about impact on the brain, as evidenced by two decades of brain scanning of substance abusers.
